Power in your words

From the very beginning of the bible, we begin to learn the importance of the spoken word. With words God literally spoke life and created things into existence (Genesis 1). We are made in the image of God, and as born again believers having the Spirit of God living inside us, our own spoken words have power. Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue and that we eat of the fruits of whatever we sow. This means that if we use our words positively, that which is positive will come upon us, but if we use our words negatively, that which is negative will come upon us or whoever/whatever situation we are talking about.

This concept of what you put out and what you receive is called sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7). This is why negative speaking, especially gossiping and backbiting are so bad and called unrighteous (Romans 1:29-30) because you are literally cursing the person/situation. Apostle James talks about this when he says ‘with the tongue we bless our Lord and Father and with it we curse men….out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers this should not be!’ (James 3:9-10). Unfortunately the current worldly culture glorifies gossip and we have all been guilty of this sin – it’s also good to realise that cursing has even been built into everyday language to the point where we curse when we do not mean to and even when we are joking! It is serious to be aware of this because Jesus said that we will give account for every idle/careless word that we speak (Matthew 12:36). The good news is that we can repent and with Holy Spirits help, make a conscious effort to ensure our words are only used for blessing.

Father in the name of Jesus we confess and are really sorry that we have been guilty of using our words for negativity, gossip and cursing. Please forgive us and cleanse us with the blood of Jesus. We ask Father that from this moment forward you will teach us more about the power of our words and help us to only use our words for being positive, speaking life and blessing. Thank you Father we love you, Amen.

Return to your 1st love

Greetings friends 🙂

God is calling us to rest with Him in the secret place. In order to access this place we must remember the first commandment “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength…” Luke 10:27 ; Deuteronomy 6:5

This is what makes the difference between religion and relationship. Religion is able to force people to go through motions, obey, submit and try to be righteous. Relationship however stems from love because you can never force anyone to love and have a genuine relationship with them. Our Lord Jesus died for our sins so that we could be redeemed back to God the Father and have a love relationship with Him. Through this love God will pour Himself into us and change our hearts to be righteous the way He desires them to be.

Some of us have a relationship with God but have forgotten to place Him as our first love in our hearts, which is what He so desires. I’d like to encourage us all to fall in love with God again. Spend time seeking Him and tell Him how much you love Him. It simply starts with you taking time out of your day, to be present with God.

I pray that we would all spend time seeking our amazing God and lay our hearts before Him in pure love. I bless us with this, in Jesus’s precious name, amen.

Lets thirst after God!

I was praying this morning and I felt strongly that God wants His bride to wake up and thirst for Him.

In the bible we read that the early church continually gave themselves to fasting and prayers in order to follow Jesus. They were hungry for God and demonstrated this through fasting and praying. Fasting doesn’t only have to be from food, it is also from worldly pleasures and dedicating our time to show God that we are willing to turn our hearts towards Him and draw closer to Him.

Bare in mind, we don’t forsake things to be good enough for God or gain access to His love, God loves us unconditionally. What I mean is that the more we do give up for God after having received His love first, the more we can walk deeper into His love walk victoriously and experience it in our lives. I believe that the more we pray, turn away from sin, and give up things to seek God, the more He can show Himself to us. It is in fact mandatory if we want to develop a relationship and become Jesus’s disciple.

God promised us, if we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us. James 4:8 , Jeremiah 29:12-13

I bless you all with Abba God’s love and with a hunger to thirst after Him and His righteousness, in Jesus name, amen.

The Power of Prayer

Greetings friends. Saints I’d like to encourage you to know that God indeed hears our prayers. As I was praying for my city, London and The UK, I felt the presence of God come upon me and I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my spirit saying,

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (KJV)

This scripture is found in James 5:16 and I would recommend reading verses 13-18.

James talks about praying during affliction, happiness, sickness and mentions that we should confess our faults to one another so that through prayer we may be healed. I feel that James is basically saying that as righteous believers our prayers are powerful and that we need to live a life of prayer in every situation we face and for whatever our heart desires.

Sometimes as we are praying it can feel like we aren’t sure if God hears us but the bible tells us that God does hear the prayers of his saints and if we pray in accordance to His will, He will answer our prayers. I wanted to share this to encourage us to keep praying and strengthen our faith to know that our prayers are being heard.

Other scriptures on prayer:
Philippians 4:6-7
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I bless you with Gods love, the ability to pray and the power to believe your prayers are being heard in Jesus name, Amen.
